Labor Day Weekend with Mema, Papa Auntie Chubbs and baby Leo

It has taken longer than usual to post about fun times, but thats how life with three little kids just happens sometimes. I am going to recap our visit with family over labor day as best I can. We had 5 days, that is it and in that time this is what happened
- We went to the country mercantile to enjoy some sampling and buy peaches for canning. While there we let the kids ride some of the rides they have.
- Played in the pool that afternoon
- Mike and my Dad left friday night to The Dalles so they were closer to the trail head of Mount Adams, which they hiked on Saturday (and it destroyed them) (all the pics are on Mike's phone)
- On Saturday us 3 ladies (Mom, Me and Chubbs) attempted to take on Uptown with 4 little kids. It was fun but we werent able to do much. Although Vienna got to have her first manicure with her Aunt chubbs.
- Started painted our living room
- I gave a talk on Sunday
- had a fire, had FHE outside and roasted smores on Sunday
- did some shopping Monday morning
- canned peaches all afternoon and painted more
- finished all the peaches tuesday morning and had time for an afternoon of swimming.
- we also watched last of the mohicans, played wizard Monday night - with a consequence, painted our toes and went through all the scentsy scents and items.
- plus attended to 4 little children, 2 of which are babies and ate wonderful homemade meals all 5 days!

HOLY SNAP!!! We worked super hard, played hard and created lots of memories.

I can't thank them all enough for helping us paint, it was SO simple when sharing the load. They didn't have to, but they wanted to help us. I LOVE being only 9 hours away from my family again. Still wish we were closer. (although they got snow today and we were down at the park having dinner in the park with family, so I don't want to live too close. lol)

Anyway, pictures always speak louder than words.

POOL TIME! Chubbs and her sweet baby Leo
Unfortunately it was getting to the end of the season so it was chillier than usual. My poor folks were here in May, at the beginning of the season and Sept at the end of the season :( Hopefully next summer they can enjoy it when it is a bathtub.
Mema and Papa with the kiddos!

We got a new fire pit for super clearance. This was our first use! Smores are so funny, but oh so messy for kids. The only way to do them is with Chocolate covered digestive cookies from Peak Freans, which you can only get in Canada. Thanks Mema and Papa for the supply.
such a fun activity for FHE

 action shot
 getting messy.

Here is the before color, its a dark moss green. I can't believe I didn't get any action shots of painting this room, the only one I have is of Mike below.

This isn't good lighting at all but here is our new color, it was called 'tropical surf'
We love it, we're just trying to get it 100% complete but its a work in progress.
My sweet little lady gettingt her first manicure, It was $3 and it was chubbs treat! Thank you Auntie!

So we played wizard one evening and we made the consequence of jumping in the pool naked and guess who lost...this girl. LOL. It was actually a really good game. Chubbs started at the end, then it was me, then Mom, dad got pretty close and then at the very end it came back to Chubbs. She was a super good sport.

Last but not least was canning peaches!
This is so special to me. Growing up, I have always LOVED eating my Grandma Betty's peaches. Whenever I'd visit her in Cardston, I'd ask for some for breakfast and sometimes she'd let me take a jar home. She knew I loved them so much, she gave me 12 jars of them for part of our wedding present. So special, because they take so much time. Anyway, as I got older I started to ask my mom to do it too. It is hard on her back and time consuming but she has agreed and we started doing it more often. My younger sisters would take jars from Mom and Dads back home to wherever they lived, so its passed down. Anyway, I have wanted to do my own, but its WAY too big of a job on my own with 3 little kids, so amongst doing all those other things, my mom brought down her canner and 36 quarts and along with my 36 quarts we canned peaches. Chubbs learned the ropes too. Our backs and feet ached but it was so worth it. I had my first ones today and they were delicious. Thanks again Mom! I  couldn't have done it without you!
