Daily Happenings!!!

Life is always full of bumps, which keeps things exciting. Nothing major, just the usual...breaking eggs all over the floor, having Mike eat them for breakfast, having a TV working in the morning and completely out of commission and in shambles on the floor in the evening, Mike getting an interview at NOVA in florida October, his first one of hopefully many. YEAH!!! Running with Laura, trying to be healthy, but getting upset about the TV (which is a great excuse for a Sonic Blast- 1000 calories later!!! so much for being healthy), A last minute trip to RC Willey just to check out prices of TV's, in case a new one is necessary. Thats about it, well except to mention that I only have 1 official meeting this week and only 3 more weeks of double duty. Oh I can not wait!!! I got my teeth cleaned today, which was very overdue and i'm a hygienist, honestly! What else...Mike went on a backpacking trip this weekend. Lots of work for such a short time but he said it was gorgeous. They climbed alot! Too bad the fish were all too small to eat. We went to a wonderful baptism saturday night, where Natasha (the one being baptized) made these delicious, cupcake-pops, which were amazing! Then we went to the batting cages a Wahooz, which was my first go at this, and it was a blast. We played games until late that night with the Mower's and then it was church, after which we went to St. Lukes (the baby hospital - its hilarious, we have been there so many times, Mike already has the room picked out he wants, if we have a baby here) to visit our good friends the Ensminger's with their new little man, Logan. He is adorable. We were not able to hold him as he is in the NICU, but he is doing great, as is mom! You are a trooper Kel. Then it was more games that evening with the Van Loo's. I guess you could say we are living it up! As we should be.
I have pics on my phone of Mike's backpacking attire and the deliciuos treats but I need Mike to help me, so i will post them soon.
Thats all....

Ward Memories and Sin City

I can truly say I am ready for a break. We have been on a long weekend adventure for the past 4 weeks in a row. Talk about spreading the fun out??? Now we are done for the summer! It really has been great and all in all, relaxing, even though it sounds busy. The main area being neglected is our sweet little abode we call home. Oh it is a disaster, that is why I am glad to have Mike out on a "boys only" backpacking/overnight trip this coming weekend. I get the place to myself to give 'er a good cleaning. YEAH! I know, how pathetic.
Anyway, The weekend of the 10-11 we had our wonderful ward campout at Lucky Peak. It was marvelous! There were 2 playing boats & 1 party boat. Everybody hauled their stuff to the other side of the lake and we played all evening friday and saturday. The weather was great! and we had lots of people so that is BEST part! We loved it. Our activity committee rocks! We are doing a White Water Rafting trip in a few weeks! How awesome!
So now to Sin City...Mike & I got the chance to go to Vegas. We had a great time! It was bloody (yes Sonni I said it) HOT! 112, which I have no idea what that is in Celcius, either way its nuts. We did the typical things and saw the typical shows. We see the Bodies Exhibit, which is very fascinating. The most important part of our trip was Mike meeting with the Dean at UNLV for an interview and going on a tour of the dental school. He loved the people, everything is new and they are working on 2 other specialties right now. Cross our fingers. Although I would have to live in a place with a pool or I may melt. Here are some pics...

Roadtrip!!!!!!!!!!!!

You got it...Back to Calgary, and this time with Mike. We began our 13hr drive last Thursday at 4pm. We drove all night and got lots of bonding time. We had a fun filled 3 day trip. The main purpose of the visit was the wedding of a long time friend (since grade 2), Carolyn Tom. We made a trip of it and went to the Zoo & did the whole Stampede Chuck Wagon Races along with the Grand Stand Show. This is terrible, but that was my first time ever doing that & I am a CALGARIAN. Pathetic, I know. Originally the drive home was to be on sunday, but luckily Mike got the day off work on Monday so we got to just chill on Sunday. We had lunch with Nan and Grandad and dinner with The Simmonds and Tyler Ryan, a long lost brother from another mother. It was Mike's first time meeting Dorothy. We had a great time and wish we could have seen more friends and family. Here are some pics to show how great the weekend was.
The wedding was at pinebrook golf course! Gorgeous, real flowers everywhere and stupendous food. Great event Carolyn!
Aarika, Carolyn, and Juls (I love you girls, can't wait to see you at Christmas!)
This is the only pic I have of anyone/anything hickish for Stampede, even though we all dressed like that :( at least I got Mike in his cowboy get-up. What a hunk! My mom is at the Zoo with a Panda shirt on...what a dork. (I said it again Grandma Grace, Oops)
I love Moosey's & I love, love, love this picture!!! The only thing that would make it better was if Dad was in it.
This is from the Dinosaur park at the Zoo. I love the CALGARY TOWER in the background. There were so many great things to see at the Zoo. The best parts were the massive hippos (out of the water) getting up, walking to the water to take the plunge, seeing the new baby Joey come out of his moms pouch, watching the Gorilla's with the new baby at feeding time, seeing the Peacock protect his family with his feathers up for a long time and lots of other fun things.

Down at Nan and Grandads for lunch.

This little girl would not let us get any kind of picture, but Auntie Lanae straightened her hair and it lasted about 10mins.

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!

So you can call me a dork, but I wanted to celebrate loudly.
I wore my Calgary flames hockey jersey and my Canadian Skull Cap, I had Canada pins on my shirt and a sign on my back. I decked out my operatory and I had a hand out at our morning meeting the said "Proper Can-eh-dian Isms" It was great, we all read through them and laughed. It included different spellings, different pronunciations, cultural things, specific foods. It was great and eveyone loved it. The jersey got too hot so I wore the white shirt. It was alot of fun! Yeah Canada!!!
