Since December 1st life has truly whirled right by...
So out of the acceptances we recieved, and even though we are on waitlists at other schools we have decided,or Mike has decided that Cleveland, Ohio (Case Western Reserve University). That is where we are headed. Wowsers!!! I don't know a thing about that area, but that is what makes it such an adventure! We will stay in Boise until Mike graduates in May and then we will head up to Calgary for about 2 months where I will work as much as possible with a new little baby, that is nursing, I might add while Mike is a stat at home dad. This will go on until mid-July which is when we will then make the trek to Ohio. We are excited and are looking into buying a home...but we will see. We have decided that the military will not work out for us but in a way we are excited about this, although it will mean a TON!!! and I mean a TON of debt. Thats ok, you just do what you gotta do.
So the New Year will consist of getting my dental hygiene license in Ohio, research about buying vs. renting and all of that good stuff! Of course we still have 9 more days until Christmas and 16 until it is 2010 and so we are just going to just sit back, relax and enjoy! Mike gets to have a whole month off of school which we are blessed to have him working at the school over that time doing research and being paid for it!!! Then he might get a job on campus for his last semester. Every little bit helps!
Just to catch up on the past 2 weeks briefly...to celebrate our acceptance, as this has been a work in progress for 3.5 years now, we went to the Melting Pot. It is a fondue restaurant for those that don't know. Now it is a bit pricy but we had been planning this for over a year, so we didn't care. We enjoyed and savoured every last morsal. I have a pic to show just how delish it was. That same weekend Mike took me on a surprise date. It on a real, old schol train ride up in Horseshoe bend that goes to Cascade. It was marvelous. We were on the polar express that took us up to Santa's village and it was decorated very well. There were carolers and hot chocolate, cookies and lots of cute kids. It was a great time to just hang out and be kids. I loved it. Thanks so much hun! To top it all off we had our ward Christmas party right after and the best part was watching the kids start crying as we put them on Santa's knee. It was great!
The rest of December has been spent wrapping gifts, doing last minute Christmas shopping and getting ready for our journey up to Calgs! We are excited to be with family over the holiday season.
Here are some pics...
Jack on Santa's knee, crying with a candy cane in his mouth! too funny!
The train was decorated with lights in every car, it was great!
Waiting anxiously to board the train
Us at our booth in the Melting Pot. What a great ambiance.
Just one of the courses. Truthfully worth every penny!
Tummy at 23.5 weeks.
The rest are pics of our apartment all decorated for Christmas. I can't believe how fast this month has already flown by.
