Vienna's First Halloween

these 2 pics are from the week up to Halloween.
Vienna in the pile of leaves from our huge tree.
Daddy and me both wearing matching tuques and shirts, how special are we.

Our Weekend:
For some reason Halloween really crept up on us this year which left Mike and I to choose last minute costumes from what we have in our costume bin that we have slowly accumulated through the previous years, however Vienna's costume was purchased over a month ago at good 'ol Costco and let me say, she was the most adorable Moo cow you ever saw, even cuter than Pack's best show cow ever.
Here's how are Halloween weekend went,(you might want to have a few mins to read the sad tale)... To start, Mike got really sick 2 Thursdays ago and Vienna got congested around the same time (no runny nose just congested) Mike was out for all of last weekend (which is probably why Halloween snuck up on us) and we had to miss the CADA Halloween Carnival, he is still not 100% to this day but much better, Vienna is still congested and on Saturday(2 days ago)her nose started to run (hopefully this means the congestion will be gone soon - cross our fingers!!!) anyway, we had our ward Halloween party on Friday night and our friends adult Halloween party right after that. Friday was super busy but loads of fun! I'm glad we were late to the Fitzner's party because they did something really scary and for anyone who knows me, they know I HATE SCARY stuff! Well Saturday morning Mike decided to go play ball for the first time since his super bad ankle sprain. (see previous post for more details) He was up and out around 6:00am. He woke me up to say goodbye and I said to him "hun, my stomach is upset, I think I might throw up, can you get me my water bottle" well around 30mins later I did just that, while Mike was gone of course. Now I haven't done that since I lived in Japan in 2001 and oh it is awful, all I wanted was my Mom or Dad to come to my rescue. I was all shaky and chilled so I just crawled back to bed with Vienna and we slept for a couple more hours. I had chills and body achyness once I was up and a pounding head so I gave Mike Vienna and I went back to bed until 11:30am. I felt much better once I got up, but not 100%. Anyway, we had been planning to go downtown on the train for over 3 weeks and I felt bad I was ruining the plans. So around 1pm, after no more vomiting, we decided to drive downtown (instead of train) and go to Tower City Center...it gets worse...on our way we pulled in for gas and at that same time our sweet little Vienna vomits everywhere in her car seat. Not spit up, but big person vomit. I clean her up as best I could and we continue on. She sleeps the whole time we are out and wakes up on our way home. She started to get fussy about 15mins before getting home because she was hungry, so I hopped in the back seat to entertain her. Not even 5mins later she starts vomiting again, except this time she had no food in her tummy so it was just mucus and stuff (poor girl) It sounded painful. I was worried and she was choking on her mucus...we pulled over, called our home teacher who is a doctor, he asked us a whole bunch of q's, he suggested we call our pediatricians office, so we did. We were told not to feed her much, no solids, just breastmilk or formula, to make sure she had a wet diaper within 12 hrs or bring her to the hospital etc. etc. I was getting really worried. She ate no problem. It was 4:45pm at this time and we had a little boy coming over to be babysat that night at 5:30pm, so we rushed home, she was fussy and acting starving, so I fed her 2oz. of formula. (if you think about it, she hadn't kept anything in her tummy since the morning) she took it happily. Milo (the baby boy we were watching) arrived at 6pm and at 6:15pm Vienna vomited everywhere!!! All over me, the floor, me, the floor and again everything in her tummy. This was nerve wracking for me, I was so worried about her. During the clean-up Vienna was bawling and Milo was too. It was quite the treat :) I let Vienna's tummy calm a bit, but again she was acting hungry, I gave her some water and let her eat from me again, but just a little even though this made her angry, this was around 7:15pm. I let her go to sleep at 7:30pm and we wanted to keep her close to us in case it happened again so she slept in her swing by us. Milo went to bed, Mike and I watched a movie. Remember that during all of this, I was still feeling yucky and hadn't eaten anything but soup all day because I was worried I would vomit too, so I ate more soup during our movie. Right after the movie, Vienna hadn't thrown-up yet so I decided to go to sleep on the couch by her while Mike studied on the floor by both of us to take care of his girls. I was out until midnight, when I heard Vienna and saw that Mike had made a bed on the floor out of the pillows from our couch right by Vienna. (it was so adorable). I fed her again, but she was still acting hungry (of course) the hard part was, we were worried to give her too much. We tried to rock her to sleep for an hour but she would not forget how hungry she was, she would be calm for a few minutes and then cry again, so we fed her again and took another risk. She kept it down. So finally after being woken up off and on for hours, at 5am we went down to our room and put Vienna in our bed with us and actually got some real sleep for a few hours. She made it all night without throwing up. PHEW!!! To say the least, Vienna and I stayed home from church and recuperated while Mike showed up to do his nursery duties and then came back to take good care of us. We were suppose to go to a family in our wards house for dinner but we were all too tired and still not feeling our best so we had to cancel. All in All it is definitely a Halloween I won't forget and that I wanted Vienna to know about. I have to say, Mike took such great care of us. I couldn't have done it on my own, that's for sure.
We still have some pics from Friday though - thank goodness...

Mike has always wanted to be a Roady, or for that matter be in a band, but at least he was one for Halloween and our cute Moo-cow.
Oh so adorable!

Our super cute Halloween socks from Bree, what a thoughtful friend. Thanks Bree!!!
i'd have to say that aunty Lanae did a dang good job with my Halloween PJ's, considering I was in Mommy's tummy at the time of purchase. they fit me just right and they were comfy!
I love this picture, this was right before bed at the adult party.

Me and Mommy on our sick day just minutes before I threw up all over this sweater of hers and my Halloween PJ's and the floor and pretty much everywhere!

Being sick is no fun!

On the bright side- you probably didn't gain much weight like the rest of us did from eating candy.
